2004-01-29 : Stop Pro-Ana

Eating disorders of every kind are incredibly pervasive. We can blame the media, our parents, kids who taunted us on the playground, but ultimately the choice is ours.

It's a learned behaviour. One day we may look at food and see fat or calories or how many steps on the treadmill it would take to burn it off. The next day, maybe we'll see sustenance. And then maybe one day, we'll be able to accord the appropriate importance to food. It's another thing to be enjoyed but not at the expense of every other aspect of a healthy life.

We need to unlearn behaviours that are harming millions of people of all ages and sizes.

Do what you can.
